For the love of Feet

When I started tying in 2017 I never realized that bondage would unlock a strong desire for exploring the sensitivity and aesthetic of feet. Yukimura is known to have said that to observe how a model is feeling in ropes, observe the expressions of their feet. Truly, the image of a toe-curling orgasm comes to mind. Body language never lies, but this is doubly true for our little piggies.

In an online workshop with Sugiura Norio, I learned that a big facet of Japanese culture in conveying the feminine as delicate and needing protection. This cultural emphasis is contained within the image of high-platforms and off-balance feet. Teetering on her tootsies, the beautiful girl could fall at any moment. This captivates the erotic imagination of the Japanese..

In the west, feet and specifically shoes reveal sexual availability. The Amy Winehouse song “Fuck-me Pumps” is a good example of the powerful symbol of high-heels. These heels cause the low-back to arch which features the plumpness of a person’s ass. Female feet are also a symbol of female power and domination. A submissive man is most comfortable at a woman’s beautifully kept feet.

I am particularly interested in male feet. In gay male encounters, a person showing the bottom of his feet is generally a symbol of receptivity, of submissiveness. Indeed, when I bind a man I intend to penetrate I am aroused by the soles of the bare feet. When he is staying over at my house for a weekend of rope, I keep him in anklets with tiny silver bells. When I hear him walking throughout the house I become aroused at the thought of his naked feet approaching.

a naked male model shows the vulnerable underside of his foot, a symbol of passivity.

In my work as a photographer, i’ve noticed that a pointed toe shows a model is aware of his or her aesthetic presentation, the angles and lines of the body. It’s an indicator of self-consciousness. A flexed foot becomes a sort of tense claw. It is often proof that a model is fighting or resisting the rope in a difficult position. This discomfort, this defiance is often more arousing and interesting to me as an onlooker than a poised model pointing his toes.

Similar to the blinker of a car, a model’s feet (and hands, for that matter) can ‘flash’ and indicate arousal. Yagami Ren said in a workshop that the crossed hands behind the back in a high-hands TK can and will mimic the internal structures, the throbbing ovaries, of a woman.
